With over a decade of experience running a video production company, I have acquired the benefit of both the internal and external view of a businesses journey, understanding also where my passions lay, and how I may use those skills to add value to any organisation I continue this journey with. The challenge of setting up a business, and maintaining it for 12 years, has given me a wealth of knowledge.
During that time I was responsible for three main roles, genuinely making me a natural multitasker. These included business leader, project manager and lead producer. My CV showcases the plethora of skills I have managed to acquire.
I believe I am strongly suited to a management/leadership role, due to how I approach relationships with a focus on clear engaging communication and meticulous attention to detail for methodically organising and recording/evaluating actions taken, whether client facing or collaborating with a creative team.
Having experienced the most common roles within video production, I have thrived with the big picture in mind, ensuring each step taken throughout a project is focused on the vision of the goal. Solutions orientated, I am not afraid of challenges, seeing them as a chance to innovate and come together and have remained calm under such pressure. I work well with people who have a similar mindset and therefore have always seen success when Producing or Directing with a crew.
Success is built upon each task completed adding up to the whole, which is why I believe the first step within a project is the most important, leading into development and planning, which generates the ability to spend more time focused on adding value than resolving issues moving through a project’s lifecycle.
For more than a decade, I lead Methodworks Production Ltd. a film and video production company based in London, UK.
My core roles included managing and leading the direction of the business, project management (including engaging with and converting new clients) and creatively leading and often executing the video projects we delivered.
Our core markets were coporate and commercial.
Not including continuous personal development and learning to refine and update my own knowledge and skills, the most recent formal education was a Masters in Real Time Media Broadcasting/Communication at the University of Portsmouth, as we began to look at how the world was changing (back in 2006) and how such technologies would be used. Achieving a distinction, I also supported the whole class (of mainly international students) to achieve their goals.
