Experienced in both single handedly managing a finance function and supervising, developing and managing junior staff. Part ACA qualified but happy to (and quite interested in) switching to CIMA or another management accounts qualification. I've decided to continue training for accounts qualifications rather than completing the degree I have spent a year studying due to not having learned any new knowledge on the course!

I am very happy in my role but chose part time hours so that I can expand on my freelancing work alongside it.

This role built on my experience of working within a finance department in industry rather than in an accounts practice. I feel that my short time here has hugely expanded my skillset including me leading a team, gaining HR experience and mentoring new through balance sheet reconciliations and month end processes. After such exposure and practice I would certainly consider my skills more of an assistant accountant than an accounts assistant and am very grateful for the development.
I am now looking to do reduced hours (working 4 days a week) hence the reason I am looking elsewhere. My reason for leaving can be discussed at interview.

Working with a variety of clients on many different types of software has been key in giving me a broader and more complete set of accounting skills. This started as a temp position and just continued on from there.

This was my first accounting role and my favourite job to date. In this role I completed 4 of the 6 courses that make up the CFAB qualification (which is the first stage of the full ACA qualification). I learned a huge amount about various types of accounting, particularly corporate tax compliance, but the main thing I learned from this role was that my future is in the accounting sector.
