Placement at RSPCA Cattery Central London Branch (2026-01 – 2026-12)
During my time at the cattery, I was involved in the daily cleaning of pods, feeding and socialising of cats. This placement taught me so much about the behaviour and mannerisms of cats which led me to understand the ways to approach and handle them. I also learnt the importance of teamwork through the way we divided up the cleaning to ensure all pods were cleaned efficiently. We also worked closely with vets to ensure that the good health of all the cats was maintained.
Work experience at LondonWoof (2026-01 – 2026-12)
My weeklong placement at a dog boarding centre, helped me to become confident in handling and managing multiple dogs at a time. I was involved in supervising around 50-60 dogs each day and preventing and handling any unusual dog behaviours. My other roles included feeding, walking and cleaning the general area to prevent the spread of disease to the dogs. This placement taught me a lot about task management and the importance of understanding each individual dog's needs.
