Anna Rickards

Hello! I am a creative specialising primarily in illustration and design. I am adept at using Procreate, Photoshop and Adobe CC softwares to create sleek, professional design work, and I particularly enjoy creating my own bespoke lettering and fonts for different projects.

I also enjoy 2D animation, having studied Character Animation at Central Saint Martins in London. My experience includes freelance design work for stationery company Central 23, podcast trailers designed and animated for clients such as BBC Radio 3 and The Honor Frost Foundation. Other previous clients include Epilepsy Action, ScriptSirens and Whistledown Scotland!

I am a highly visual person and I'm passionate about all things design and layout!

I currently work on a freelance basis for London based stationery company Central 23, where I have been responsible for creating gift wrap, greetings cards and other stationery items. Through creating these designs I have gained a greater understanding of design, lettering and layout, creating my own graphic design work to a high standard!

Previously I have worked on indie animation projects such as the ScriptSirens short film “Something Different” , providing visual development for the film as well as directing and animating within our small team. I have worked as a visual artist and illustrator since 2018 and have provided visual development for children's book authors such as character designs, prop designs for indie animation projects and have previously worked in the cleanup pipeline of LA studio Double Plus on their short film “She Dreams at Sunrise”.

After completing an Undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh in 2018, I graduated from my MA in Character Animation in 2020 from Central Saint Martins, UAL, where I learned a number of skills including the foundations of 2D animation, scriptwriting, storyboarding and the fundamentals of design, as well as giving me a comprehensive training in figure drawing and other art fundamentals.
