I came to Leeds from the Wirral in 1991 to train as an adult nurse and qualified in 1994. Between 1994 and 2014 I worked in a variety of medical settings within Leeds Teaching Hospitals. During that time I gained a wealth of experience caring for acutely ill patients providing the best possible care at all times.
I would provide care and leadership at all stages of the patients hospital time, from completing their admission, monitoring and constant assessment through to their discharge from the hospital.
For the last 10 years I took a career break to split my time between raising my three daughters and caring for my unwell parents, whenever possible, in the Wirral. I now feel that as my daughters are about to move in high school that I am ready to revive my nursing career.
I worked in a variety of acute medical settings as a staff nurse, all the way through to a specialist nurse in stroke, senior sister on an Older person ward/ isolation. Gained experience as a Matron for several months overseeing care of the older adult wards.
I have a great insight into accurately assessing, planning, and treating patients all whilst maintaining their privacy and dignity
Diploma in Nursing studies, leading to becoming a Registered Adult Nurse
