Steward - Contrakk catering - UK / North Sea

Based onboard the Mac Pegasus oil research vessel working on a 5 week on 5 week off rotation. Specifically responsible for daily cleaning of the accommodation, offices and recreational facilities ensuring cleaning, laundry and other duties are carried out as per procedures in a safe and efficient manner. Carrying out galley duties including food preparation, food serving, plate wash, housekeeping and various other duties while liaising with managers, supervisors, client and fellow co workers on a daily basis.

Handling food, cleaning and bonded goods when delivered. Ensuring legislation, company and client requirements are followed with reference to health and safety environmental and quality ensurance. Part of the ships emergency first aid team, carrying out an accommodation check and reporting to the ECC, communicating with the ECC and relaying information as required.

Giving support to the medic in his/her duties.

Steward - Stenaline Ferries - Hollyhead

During my time with Stenaline was fortunate enough to gain a PPT Contract on the super fast x. I worked on all outlets and was often referred to as a credit to the company. The job entailed stock control, cleaning bar area, serving customers or food in food halls, and managing a small team in any of the catering areas onboard the Superfast X.

I worked in the galley, accommodation and laundry facilities. I gained good working knowledge of unsociable 6 hours on and 6 hours off rotations for 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off at a time.
