Part time volunteer at Café 181 (2024-06 – 2025-01)
In this role, I worked in a café where I was responsible for preparing and serving coffee and assisting customers at the till. My daily tasks included maintaining a clean and welcoming environment and managing multiple responsibilities at once. This position has helped me develop strong customer service skills, improve my ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and enhance my organizational skills in a fast-paced and dynamic setting.
Through this experience I have learned how to adapt to different tasks, and help deliver good service to a wide range of customers.
Catering partner at Waitrose (2025-02 – 2026-07)
In this role I started with the basics from working in the café and used this to further develop my skills in the service industry by getting my level 1 and level 2 food hygiene certificates. There was an intense learning curve due to the intensive shifts where I would prepare and cook as part of a team in an open kitchen for around 80 people everyday with an average of 2 or 3 of us in the kitchen but I rose to the challenge and adapted to the conditions, my duties also included cleaning the cutlery, countertops and floors in a quick and sanitary manner and maintaining stock dates and disposal whilst serving customers, I also experienced high pressure shifts where I would do the work on my own and close down the kitchen and dining room by myself as well. I enjoyed forming bonds and friendships with the staff that we were serving and still maintain friendships with many of these staff and my colleagues still.
