Family Assessment Worker - Dudley Lodge - Birmingham

As a family assessment worker; this entails supporting parents whether it be single parents or couples to better their skills and knowledge – whom are referred to the centre by Local Authority due to being identified as perpetrators or victims of abuse towards either a child/partner or both – children that have sustained non accidental injuries as well as child sexual exploitation. Furthermore, substance misuse issues and a lack of knowledge in regard to supporting their children's growth and development in line with their needs –as well as the maintenance of their child/children's safety. A three-month assessment is undertaken whereby teaching and one to one sessions are offered to give parents the best opportunity to work towards and achieve successfully passing their assessment which results in families returning into the community.
In addition to this I work with and alongside families that are unsuccessful in their assessment which results in removal of their child/children. Safeguarding is the prime objective of my role with an aim to educate parents in ways in which allow them to safeguard themselves as well as their children.

Supporting clients to access the community to attend appointments, shopping and leisure activities. Offering support to families and clients of clients that have palliative care provisions in place.
