I am a Mum to three wonderful young boys and a wife to my hard working husband. I work full time within a local primary school.
I have a full, clean registered UK driving license and own my own vehicle. I have a fully enhanced DBS check.
I adore working with children, watching how they learn & grow.
I am a reliable, honest, hardworking, responsible individual who can finish tasks on my own or as part of a team. I can work with or without technology and love a challenge - something I am definitely hit with on a daily basis in my current role.
I have always been drawn to working with children who have experienced trauma and behavioural needs because I believe that every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. Working with these children has taught me the importance of patience, understanding, and compassion. In my spare time I am an active volunteer for the NSPCC and have done several events/fundraisers in support of this.
I find it incredibly rewarding to build relationships with children who have often been let down by those in their lives. By providing a consistent, nurturing, and non-judgmental space, I can help them develop trust and begin to heal from their experiences.
I am passionate about supporting children with trauma and behavioural needs because I recognise that their behaviour’s are often a manifestation of their inner struggles. Rather than simply trying to change their behaviour, I strive to understand the underlying causes and work with them to develop coping strategies and regulate their emotions.
Through my experience, I have learned that every child is unique, and what works for one child may not work for another. I am committed to getting to know each child as an individual, understanding their strengths and challenges, and tailoring my support to meet their specific needs.
Ultimately, my goal is to help children with trauma and behavioural needs develop the resilience, self-awareness, and confidence they need to succeed in life. I believe that every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued, and I am committed to being a source of support, guidance, and hope in their lives.
I have a;
I am currently in my third year at University, studying BA (HONS) Childhood & Youth Studies.
I thrive off working and supporting young children, helping them understand, learn and grow to be the best they can be.
Due to having responsibilities of my own, I am not looking for zero hour contracts, supply or agency work, only full/part time permanent roles offered directly by employers.
Thank you.
I understand supporting children and young people with difficult behaviour’s, it is essential to build positive relationships founded on trust, empathy and understanding, identifying triggers, developing behaviour plans, providing emotional support, collaborating with parents/carers, and fostering a positive environment. More importantly recognising and addressing underlying causes and triggers of difficult behaviour’s provides validation and inclusivity to an environment, in which I believe will promote social-emotional learning and respect.
Working in close collaboration with SENDCO within my current role, has enabled me to develop a deeper understanding of the specific needs of students with Special Educational Needs. Through regular meetings and joint planning sessions, we have been able to tailor support strategies to meet the individual requirements of each student, ensuring that they have equal access to the curriculum and can reach their full potential. By sharing expertise and best practices, we have been able to create a cohesive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic achievement, social inclusion, and emotional well-being for all children.
By understanding the underlying causes and implementing supportive strategies, we can try and create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for all.
I have achieved this knowledge through my hard work in furthering my education to my degree and my daily practice of working within school settings.
