About

I have had an established career within the Civil Service with 10+ years' experience working with senior Civil Servants at Director and Deputy Director level as well as extensive experience line managing individuals and overseeing large teams. I thrive in busy and engaging teams, which my career has mostly been in fast-paced Executive and Private Offices. In my most recent role, my work sat in the accessibility and assurance space, testing a proof of concept to be rolled out across the largest Civil Service Department that assures service lines to ultimately improve our services to customers and compliance with the Equality Act 2010.

I have always been a proactive member of senior leadership teams (SLT), having previously been the Events Manager for the largest staff network in the Crown Prosecution Service, involved in many recruitment campaigns as the Chair/panel member and led engagement activity in response to employee surveys to drive forward results from survey findings to practical employee-led actions. A real driver for me in work has been working with people to get the right people into jobs and making the working environment inclusive, engaging and energised. Whilst I have really enjoyed my time in the Civil Service, I have decided to pursue a career in PA/events management as it naturally aligns with my skills and something I really enjoyed previously.

Experience

Accessibility Team Leader at Department of Work and Pensions (2025-06 – 2026-07)

Led an internal assurance team, overseeing assurance activity and reported on team progress to the directorate's SLT.
Developed assurance methodologies to assess compliance within Service lines to identify improvement opportunities and potential risks.
Provide advice and challenge to stakeholders on accessibility matters, risk and compliance in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Investigations and Liaisons team leader at Department of Work and Pensions (2024-04 – 2025-06)

Coordinated sensitive material and correspondence with an external auditing body, providing key updates to senior leaders and escalating matters when appropriate.
Reviewed incoming requests for information as part of the investigation, with the responsibility of commissioning bespoke requests to different business areas, ensuring we met the external deadlines required.

Senior Business Manager at Department of Work and Pensions (2023-09 – 2024-03)

Oversaw the Business Centre which supported a directorate of 400 colleagues, including line management responsibilities, which serviced Learning & Development, Finance, HR and the Executive Office.
Acted as the interface between the SLT and the Directorate, drafting communications on their behalf, ensuring key messages were accurate and timely as well as reporting to them key areas of business requiring their authorisation or awareness.
Led cross-departmental initiatives and improvement activity by organising, facilitating and evaluating staff engagement sessions, as well as feeding back progress to central teams.

Private Secretary at Crown Prosecution Service (2017-04 – 2023-08)

Managed the Directors of Legal Services inbox and correspondence, ensuring their workload was managed by setting daily priorities and responding to changs in work/commitments.
Organised large corporate events, both internal and external, which included logistics, agenda planning, inviting guest speakers and designing all pre and post event communications.
Line managed a pool of Senior Personal Assistants, coaching new starters and supporting performance and development goals.

Senior Personal Assistant at Crown Prosecution Service (2015-07 – 2017-03)

Managing multiple busy diaries within Private Office, scheduling and reprioritising commitments for Senior Civil Servants.
Skilled in taking minutes for professional and sensitive meetings, whilst clearly articulating agreed actions and owners.
Booking travel and accommodation, ensuring best value for money, as well as processing and reporting business expenses in line with guidance.
