As a lifeguard at a leisure centre i had to take on more roles than just being a lifeguard when i was off the chair. I had to be very quick to react to things and know what to do in an emergency, this helped me learn to work well in a fast paced environment both by myself and working as a team.

Lifeguard/Leisure Assistant at Milton Keynes Leisure Centre

As a lifeguard at a leisure centre i had to take on more roles than just being a lifeguard when i was off the chair. I had to be very quick to react to things and know what to do in an emergency, this helped me learn to work well in a fast paced environment both by myself and working as a team.

• Cleaning around the centre; scrubbing bathrooms, wiping mirrors, mopping floors and sports halls, hovering, etc
• Working reception when a receptionist had to use the bathroom or wasn't available to be at reception
• Changing the sports halls for different sports throughout the day
• Making sure equipment in the gyms were clean and working and neatly arranged
• Stocking shelf's with products such as swim suits, goggles and pool toys and stocking vending machines
• Worked in the cafe when they needed a bit of extra help when there where too many people
• Helping customers with their problems and showing them where the gyms and bathrooms are if they got lost

Retail Sales Assistant at Xtreme Central

I worked as a retail sales assistant in Xtreme Central where I gained an understanding of what it's like to work in a field that requires me to communicate with customers and meet customer needs / expectations whilst also learning basic skills such as restocking items and making sure the area I was working as well as other areas of the store were presentable and cleaned.

• Spent time with customers helping them understand what certain things were and giving them recommendations on items based on what they intended to use them for / how they wanted clothes and shoes to fit
• Directed customers to the locations of certain items they where looking for (jeans, hoodies, shoes, etc)
• Made sure that these items where all in their designated area and not just thrown into random places by customers
