Alarms Engineer - Castle Fire & Security - UK
(2019-02 - 2022-01)
Alarms Engineer – This included the installation and servicing of fire alarm systems and security alarm systems. This meant driving all over the country (UK) in a van with work tools to install and safely carrying out the work required. All installation work had to meet the British Standard (BS:5839) to ensure maximum safety and quality of work completed.
All work had to be tested and handed over to the customer with a commissioning certificate once ready for use. Any work that was carried out had RAMS and method statements sent to the clients prior to my arrival so that as soon as I was on site I could sign in with security and complete any permits/documentation required. Also required me to liaise with other contractors to make sure work was completed safely and efficiently.
Servicing alarms required testing with the correct, calibrated equipment to comply with BS:5839. It was very common to come across faults while servicing alarms, which were all noted down on the certificate. Any faults found I would fix if possible (system would be condemned if not).
As fire/security alarms are life saving equipment, all work was completed with full confidence that the system would work if it
