I am a 31 year old living in South Norwood. I am an easy person to get along with. However, I don’t shy away from hard work, and I’m always keen to learn and find solutions to problems. I’m a good communicator and team player who can work independently. I have recently enjoyed working in a student facing role, and I’m looking for a position to expand my knowledge and experience in SEN. One of my greatest strengths is building rapport with all that I work with.
I have worked in various student facing roles, in various educational provisions. I have experiance working with EHCPs, taking part in annual reviews, building rapport with students and families, and doing my upmost to provide effective care and education (academic and social) to the young people I've been lucky to work with.
In my current role, I create and deliver bespoke lesson plans in a 1:1 capactity. Lessons are delivered onsite, or at a library or a local cafe, whatever is best for the family and the student. Lessons are tailored to the needs and interests of the student. I try to think creatively, trying to do away with regurgitating a text book. I often have to think on my feet, to change the lesson if something isn't working so well or if there is a chance to work on something better.
I have level 3 qualifications, English literature A-Level and Health and Social Care diploma. In the past I enrolled at Goldsmiths University to undertake a Social Work B.A but was unable to complete due to lockdowns and family stress.
