My name is Benjamin Baah a registered Nurse and I am writing to express my strong interest in this position in your organisation. I have over five years of practical experience in assessing patients’ health issues, maintaining medical records and executing nursing care plans successfully. Apart from my experience, I also bring compassion, empathy and a high standard of care and respect to both vulnerable patients and colleagues.
In my most recent role as a carer my day to day involved tasks such as assisting patients with their personal hygiene, administering medication, providing mobility support, ensuring patient safety, and meal preparation. These tasks have improved my interpersonal and communication skills as I have to be aware of patients’ specific needs in order to tailor my care appropriately to their needs. This role has also built upon my ability to safeguard patient wellbeing and handle patient information with high standards of confidentiality.
Moreover, my work has made me more empathetic to my patients’ struggles and strive harder to uphold their dignity and integrity.
Before moving to the UK I worked as a registered in my home country Ghana. In this role, I provided care, maintained accurate patient records, administered medication, monitored patients’ vitals and assisted my patients with their personal hygiene needs. Through this experience, I have honed my clinical skills such as scrubbing for an operation and working at the recovery ward.
My mathematical skills when calculating drug dosage for both adults and infants. I have also had extensive experience in making care plans for patients with all kinds of medical conditions such as hypertensive and diabetic patients. This has further improved my problem-solving skills and expanded my clinical knowledge in treating high-risk patients. In addition, I have developed a strong attention to detail when documenting patient information and ensuring a high level of record accuracy.
