As a full-stack Software Engineer with a background in neuroscience and psychology, I bring a unique perspective on software problems. My curiosity about people and how my interactions impact those around me has led me to strive to understand the motivations and needs of my colleagues and clients.
Throughout my degree in psychology, I learned to code in a coding BootCamp which is where I realised how suited I was to software engineering. Since then, I have been learning different aspects of computer science, even finishing my last semester at uni studying distributed systems, secure programming, operating systems and data structures & algorithms.
Working as a software developer at James Anthony Consulting has allowed me to develop my fundamental understanding of the software engineering process, and apply the skills learnt throughout my undergraduate degree. Working on an individual project and following through over an 8-month period provided me with experiences of the full life cycle of a software project/product. Later collaborative work on larger projects further enhanced the skills needed for working within teams.
Client interactions and internal meetings further provide a strong base for technical communication.
I have also completed multiple Udemy academies in Python and C++ which are further advanced by the use of Java and C++ at the University of Adelaide.
Introduction to competitive programming and cyber security challenges have also broadened the scope of my knowledge, further showcasing my curious nature, ability and drive to learn new things. I am very interested in how things in general work which ensures I get a good understanding of the processes I am involved with.
