When I left school I did an apprenticeship as a motor mechanic, attained City & Guilds Part 1. 2. and 3. Also did my VOSA training and became an MOT tester. When I left the motor trade I trained as a driving instructor and continued in that profession until retirement in November 2021.
I have worked as a driving Instructor for 45 years, prior to that I spent 6 years as a motor mechanic and MOT tester. So in summary, I have spent my whole adult life dealing with most aspects of driving.
Left school at 15 with no educational certificates, went on to do City & Guilds motor vehicle craft studies Part 1, 2, and 3.Passed all with distinction. Completed a few courses while training….Rotory engine repair and diagnostics. Compression ignition certificates, VOSA MOT testers certificate. After leaving the motor trade I passed the dsa, driving instructor exam. I have only had these 2 jobs in my life.
