Retail Sales Assistant - Matalan - Worksop
(2023-02 - 2024-09)
During my time at Matalan I Learned how to communicate with and help customers on a day to day basis, as well as being friendly with helping them locate certain items around the shop or checking available stock. As well as helping customers, i was a great team player and helped my colleagues as much as i could by finishing the rest of delivery we had to get out on time and making sure it was all finished and prepped for the next day so no one had a rush of things to finish in a morning. Overall I enjoyed my time at Matalan as I learned a lot of skills and ways to work under pressure.
From completing delivery drop offs to tidying stock rooms and taking down, putting up shelves and filling in stock, overall my skills and communication as well as work ethic has improved massively.

As a shop refitting company, with ties to spec savers. My job was to evaluate all the tools and make sure everything was where it should be to prevent loss or damage to them. Once everything was set up, we tore down walls, ripped up carpets and threw away all old and unused items for spec savers.
During my time working there I discovered that time schedule's and meeting those deadlines is crucial. I was trained on how to use jack hammers, drills, hammers, and many more tools. During my time shop refitting, we travelled to Grimsby and Manchester to 3 different spec savers to complete these jobs, working 13 to 14 hours a day 5 days a week.
