I am UK qualified Chartered Secretary with 20 years post qualification board experience gained in international, multi-cultural settings, and diverse industries including: (i) Construction & Engineering (ii) Telecomm (iii) Property & Asset Management (iv) Insurance (v) Banking (vi) Law Firm.

I am UK qualified lawyer and hold a master’s degree in law, this will no doubt be an added value and stand me in a vantage position of being the trusted adviser to the Company in my capacity as company secretary.

I am the group company secretary at AECOM, Europe and India with responsibilities of managing all corporate governance, statutory, & regulatory compliance systems. Since my appointment as the group company secretary in 2018, I have successfully:

• Introduced & helped in the implementation of a corporate governance code within the board of directors and management.
• Drafted & implemented compliance schedules in entities across Europe and India.
• Drafted & implemented corporate policies on delegation of authority, sign off procedures and document retentions.
• Set up effective Document Management Systems in relation to both physical and electronic filings.

As a result of these, AECOM has:

• An effective board and committees that are compliant with the UK corporate governance code
• AECOM has a board and committees with efficient decision-making mechanism; and
• A transparent board and committees with full accountability and effective oversight of the business 

Prior to AECOM, I was the group company secretary at Global Cloud Xchange with company secretarial responsibilities for 60 entities in the group in over 30 countries including Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia & Egypt. I was also a legal counsel with additional responsibilities for negotiating and drafting domestic and cross-border agreements.

I have developed and expanded my previous roles, for example:

At Global Cloud Xchange – my role started out as the Group Company Secretary – which was expanded to include legal counsel.

At AECOM – my role was initially the Group Company Secretary for UK & Ireland and following successful implementation of a corporate governance and statutory compliance systems, I was promoted to Group Company Secretary for Europe and India.
