Guest Concierge / Customer Service at COVID Hotel Double Tree by Hilton (2021-04 – 2022-03)
I worked as part of a small team, consisting of myself, kitchen staff and the front desk. I was responsible for ensuring that our 250 quarantining guests had a safe and comfortable stay. For about 2-3 months I was working alone with just my manager and our chef. This was due to the lack of staff available therefore, I was doing early morning shifts, afternoon shifts and evening shifts.

The COVID Hotel was taken over by another company who turned it into a Hotel for Asylum seekers. However, my role with Customer Service did not really change. I was a waiter in the pub / restaurant and also worked as a kitchen assistant when required.
During my shifts, if my boss was not at work it would be my responsibility to ensure the standards are kept to a high standard and that I was the first point of contact to customers if they had any questions or complaints. Not only that, I was given the role to make sure the establishment was kept clean and tidy therefore, I was able to assign people roles and make sure we kept to a fast and efficient pace during opening hours. I was given this role as I had proven myself to my boss during my time at the Covid Hotel next door.

I help with the family childminding business caring for children aged between 8mth – 7 years olds.
