I currently work as a casual learning assistant and love this job, I have learned so much with this job and am egar to add to my experience and keep learning. I have worked with primary school ages all the way through from primary 1 to primary 7 and also have experience in the learning centre to. With this job I have to maintain a clean and safe environment for the children, I also have to make sure all their needs are met whoever that child is or children.

I can work as part of a team or on my own and can take my own initiative to come up with activities children may like to keep them entertained and having the best time while they are with me and also try and make sure they are meeting their targets without it seeming to overwhelming. I am very creative and love using that when doing work or actual activities to help keep children engaged. I use communication alot with this job as we try keep the parents as involved as possible and other employees who can help me or I can help them i think communication and team work can really help a work environment thrive.

Nursery Apprentice - Happy Faces Nursery - Dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway

While at happy faces I learned so many new skills and learned so much in the way of working in a new environment with children. I had to ensure that each child was cared for to the absolute best of my ability, ensure they felt safe and calm and had the best experience during the nursery day. Health and safety was a high priority to me during this job constantly making sure it was clean for the children and the other work colleagues to.

I had experience food allergies to as a lot of the children had different needs at lunch times. I also had to have really good time management due to having ratios of how many adults to children so was always on time to ensure we were always at ratio. I had to be creative and take initiative with activities for the children to help them with learning new skills and enjoying it while they learn.

Quick thinking was a big thing to keep the children interested in what we were doing. I had to have good communication skills with both work colleagues and parents and caregivers regarding how the children were and if anything was needed to be done or if something was happening it was a very important skill to have during this job. During my time at matalan I was able to increase my confidence in communication with both customers or work colleagues. I also learned good time management and being as flexible as possible. I was part of a time so was able to build confidence in expressing my opinions and ideas to improve stuff around the work place.

I worked with money and had to have good customer service to insure that each customer had a good experience while shopping with us. I also had to ensure that the shop was clean and safe. With this job I was putting outfits together to give inspiration to shoppers, I often helped them when they needed a little extra help with what might look good on themselves insuring they felt at ease and confident and overall had an amazing experience.
