As an empathetic and inquisitive Assistant Psychologist with a strong academic foundation and diverse practical experience in the mental health and psychological care sectors I am looking to expand and build on my clinical knowledge. Holding a BSc in Psychology from the University of Warwick and an MSc in Clinical Psychology and Mental Health from Swansea University has provided me the foundations which I have built on through hands-on experience as an Assistant Psychologist in a Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, working closely within a Multidisciplinary Team to develop and implement informed and person-centred care plans. My key strengths include an understanding of and experience carrying out various psychological assessments, supporting with therapeutic interventions, and continuing professional development wherever possible.
My strong interpersonal skills and a passion for supporting individuals with complex needs gained from my experienced in delivering group therapy as a Volunteer for an OCD and Phobia Charity and working with people with learning disabilities, and providing support in both clinical and home settings. Additionally, I have a background in digital marketing for an educational start-up has provided me with important technological skills and an understanding of the importance of and utility of integrating technology within clinical work
Assistant Psychologist - Elysium Healthcare - Neurological Rehabilitation Centre

After completing my Masters I went on to an Assistant Psychologist role at a Neurological Rehabilitation Centre that supported individuals in their recovery from Traumatic and Acquired Brain Injuries. In this role under the guidance and support of experienced Psychologists and the wider Multidisciplinary Team I have assisted in rehabiltating individuals during the most challenging and unexpected period of their lives.
Mental Health Support Worker - Priory Group - Supported Living Home

I built on my experience of Mental Health Support on different groups at a Supported Living Home. This has allowed me to further my knowledge and understanding of various mental health issues and disabilities and build on my empathy and patience. At this role I learnt a great deal about different demographics and how needs and level of support can vary depending on the individual.
As a result of this time I have developed a true understanding of the importance of person centred care and its value and impact on the people we support.
Mental Health Support Worker - Keys Accomplish Group - Supported Living Home

Over the Summer whilst finishing my Masters degree in Clincial Psychology, I worked as a Mental Health Support Worker at a Supported Living Home for individuals with severe mental health difficulties. I found this time to be incredibly rewarding and provided me with a greater understanding of the everyday struggles that impact individuals with mental health difficulties. I worked with individuals with a range of different and often overlapping disorders, primarily Schizo-affective and learning disabilities.
Although all residents were undergoing treatment and working towards living independently relapses were still a regular occurrence and although emotionally difficult at times, it provided me with firsthand insight into the peaks and troughs of mental health recovery and the importance of being a calm, non-judgmental support for the individual suffering.

During my break from Education prior to beginning my Masters degree, I worked as a Digital Marketing Executive. I value my time there immensely as I learned a great deal about the world of Marketing, in which my Psychology degree was a benefit. I thrived in the interaction of a diverse and experienced group of individuals, from Education experts to App Developers, and everything in between.
