Assistant cook/ Waitress at Regal Bar (2019-06 – 2023-05)
This bar was my first job from age fifteen. Here I helped the cook with food preparation like chopping vegetables, breading, and battering meat, making pies, and cooking sauces. I worked in the kitchen alongside the cook during the dinner rush and waited tables at the same time.
This job required memory skills as there was either two of us waiting tables, or just myself, and if customers asked for anything it was my job to remember the additions in the middle of doing something completely different. I also worked behind the bar and took payments on the till. After every shift I would clean both the kitchen and the dining area, as well as prepare stock for the next day.
Bartender at Crowes Nest (2022-05 – 2022-12)
In this role I was always faced with customers. I took orders and prepared drinks during peak rush time every Saturday night. I handled money on the till and rotated around my team until early morning. I helped stock the bar and clean both the bar downstairs and nightclub upstairs after every shift. Being able to handle a highly intense rush of people took patience and good listening skills, and if there were any issues with their drinks, understanding and fixing the problem at once was needed.
Crew Member at McDonald's (2022-09 – Present)
I worked as part of a team in a stressful and fast paced environment. I served food and drinks to customers and handled payments on the till. Being able to multi-task was essential in this role as well as communicating with customers that had issues with their orders, which I also performed on the drive thru on a headset, and sometimes at the same time.
Taking initiative was a value to include as stock would run low and managers would need to be informed if it went unnoticed. I also took part in open shifts, which included stock preparation, and building closes on the lobby which was involved cleaning the dining area and bathrooms.
