Partaking of daily scans in a busy department.
This is a full time 37.5-hour role. It is also inclusive of night duty.
Part of the role includes the conducting of general X-Rays.
As a senior this role also encompasses overseeing the student radiographers that rotate around the department and assessments of their work, as well as instruction on how to perform both x-rays and scans.

Mobile CT Radiographer To establish a career and settle in the UK whilst maintaining a working career. Responsible for the daily operation of the mobile site to which I am sent. This includes the primary care of the patient whilst they are in the mobile van, administration under the relevant authority of Contrast media and the completion of the correct CT scan relevant to the patient. Uphold the values of the relevant site trust.

Set up and ran the X Ray department at the Rosebank Branch (I returned to radiography in January 2018 once we had decided to relocate back to the UK to get my registrations with the Health Professions Council South Africa and the HCPC in the UK sorted and up to date, as well as to upskill myself in the methods now used in Radiography).
The position in Rosebank involved negotiations with all the relevant stakeholders in setting up the department and ensuring the smooth running there-after.

In addition to this my husband and I owned shares in Major Tech an electrical and retail suppler of electrical fittings and sockets, I assisted here when I could with the training of staff and the EAP programs that we initiated for the staff. The staff compliment here was 120 with branches in all the major cities in South Africa
REASON FOR RETURNING TO THE MEDICAL FIELD.
When my husband and I decided to relocate to the UK I returned to radiography to work as I was able to secure a job in the UK, this was tremendous help when moving. I have trained and worked on the GE scanners since I have been here.
I have also completed the IV canulation course.
MY PASSION.
My first passion is People, dealing with individuals, staff training and setting of various interventions. My PhD is focusing on the Neuroscience of Employee Engagement with specific reference to coping during the Covid pandemic.
This involves a lot of research, and I am well versed in various qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
My master’s in industrial psychology utilised the methodology of Interactive Qualitative Analysis and Focus groups, together with semi structured interviews. This a novel research method.
I am passionate about the gathering and analysis of data, this is the stage I am currently at with my PhD.
This is being done under the guidance of Professor Dirk Geldenhuys at the University of South Africa.
