I have substantial experience of working with children in various childcare contexts, in both educational and social care settings, and am passionate and inspired by how children develop, learn and interact. I have worked with children of varying ages and abilities in one-to-one and small group situations, and can offer a caring attitude, patience, an interest in how to support children’s learning and thinking. A personal achievement for me was completing a B A In Childhood studies and the The Early Years Professional Status.I have recently completed level 2 counselling skills, autism awareness and the level 3 SENCO qualification to be updated on the statutory requirements for supporting children and young people with SEND and their families. I am looking to utilise my knowledge and skills in leading and supporting practitioners to support children's learning and development following the Early Years Foundation Stage.
I am a naturally cheerful, capable, adaptable person with good teamwork and interpersonal skills developed in my previous employment. I have thirty-seven years’ experience of working with and supporting children, parent/carers and leading and supporting staff and look forward to transferring these in a supporting children and families.
I volunteer for a charity ‘Frazzled Café’ where I facilitate a group of adults twice a week on a zoom meeting providing a safe place for participants to speak about their feelings to support their mental health.
I currently work as a contact supervisor recording and supporting children and the interactions and engagement with their parents ensuring safeguarding procedures are put into practice and promoting healthy relationships.
