I am a secondary school teacher working in east London. I have been teaching for twenty years, and I am passionate about providing outstanding education, exceptional Pastoral care, and extraordinary personal development opportunities for young people.
I teach Citizenship to KS3, GCSE Citizenship at KS4, and Personal Development to KS4. I am responsible for designing, implementing, and assessing the impact of both the Citizenship and Personal Development curricula. I have experience of teaching Drama up to GCSE level, PSHE (KS3 and KS4), English at KS3, and Humanities subjects at KS3.
I have developed an effective, accessible and inspiring curriculum for Nurture pupils, focused on explaining real life topics to ensure the pupils feel confident to take their place in the world.
I am a Head of Year, and have been a champion of Pastoral care for secondary pupils since I secured promotion to Assistant Head of Year in my NQT year. I have progressed to Assistant Key Stage Leader and then Key Stage Leader for KS4, overseeing both my own Year Group and line managing the other Head of Year in my Key Stage. I have line managed Tutors from a range of specialisms, and I am a PGCE Subject Mentor for Citizenship and PSHE.
In my day-to-day role I teach, I support pupils and their families, I liaise with all stakeholders and external agencies with integrity, care, and professionalism. I lead on projects to celebrate achievements for our pupils and ensure the safeguarding of all our pupils is paramount and robust. I strategically implement programmes to improve pupil outcomes both in terms of their academic attainment but also their personal development, so they have the best chance to achieve their full potential.
I believe all pupils deserve a safe, welcoming, and aspirational school, led by inspirational, caring and dedicated adults.
