Since taking up the position of travelling janitor I have learned many aspects of the job. I have also learned from alot of different schools different ways to approach certain situations that may arise. Health and safety is paramount as also is the security of the building when you are a janitor.

I have gained a lot of experience working in this roll within schools. To operating a team of 7 cleaners with in the school. Prioritising duties when short staffed. To delegating overtime when required too.
As I have been covering janitorial duties during sick leave also I have learned a more in-depth awareness of the operations in regards to the day to day running of the school.Since September 2023 I am now a fully trained Janitor where I travel around schools to cover for holidays and sickness.

I worked as a cleaning supervisor for this company ..I had worked for this company for 2 yrs.. I have gained my cscs card and have just completed an IOSH course on Health and safety with Max safe solutions. I first entered into the position as area supervisor for close cleaning checks.I then managed 52 office cleaning contracts. I am now cleaning in all departments including clòse cleaning where I deal with tenants and clients.

This job allowed me to serve hot and cold drinks and cakes, tablet and shortbread.I make sure my passengers are comfortable and if any questions or enquiries surface i do my best to assist with this.Safety of my passengers are paramount .

I worked as a cleaning supervisor with a team of 6 or 7 cleaners on a site. My job entailed me to train new staff . Take command of health and safety in the work place. Process time sheets to head office.Tool box talks. Liaison with client on site.Communicate on a weekly basis with area manager.Order stock for cleaning. During this time i was able to go on many courses and obtain certificates for customer services.

I built up my own clientele over the years by word of mouth and hard work. I also built the trust with my clients as i would have keys to their home. I would agree before hand to as what was needed cleaning and agreed on time and days. At end of each clean i charged the agreed amount per hr and gave them a receipt for this. During the years i attended the West regeneration agency and attained my S.Q.V for ruining a small financial business.

During my time with the company i was a post person for 11 yrs.I then became a P.H.G (Post person Higher Grade).During the year 2001 i had my son and went down to part time hours as a valuables officer. This is were we had a contract with our local D.S.S. office where i would intercept their mail at depot and file onto computer to print out and be delivered by one of the drivers.
