I am currently a duty manager at Frasers Fish and Chips, I am honoured to work this role as it shows that I am a valued and trusted member of staff. When I first joined this company I started as a server on front of house, I have learnt a lot through working here such as how to deal with unhappy customers, overcoming stressful situations and keeping calm with shifts get busy and overwhelming. All of these things helped me become a duty manager.
I am responsible for managing my team which ages varies, 16-45 this can be quite difficult at times but I like this as it gives me new challenges that I can overcome on a regular basis. I work with my team to ensure the shifts run smoothly by using open communication, which I think is key. My other responsibilities include handling money during every shift and managing our cash registers at the end of the night.
This means handling large volumes of money following the correct procedures such as keeping logs of what transactions were made. I'm proud that my team is comfortable to come to me with any problems that may arise during shifts and how I handle them in a polite and professional manner.
