During my time working at priory working with clients with learning disabilities I have discovered that helping them with everyday life and making their day a bit brighter is a very special thing to be able to do. I take pride in saying I'm a support worker it is a very rewarding job along with any care position. the clients I cared for varied from dementia, Down syndrome, autism and many more so my understanding of all types of learning disabilities is very good I also understand everyone is different and requires different approaches.

My role as a kitchen assistant was helping prepare food, cleaning dining rooms and the kitchen, serving meals, offering snacks and drinks to residents. Even just sitting and talking to them was a very memorable part of my job. As the residents had dementia sometimes a change of face from the care workers helped to calm them down ans relax.
