I am writing to express my interest in the Paralegal position at the FA, as advertised. I have a strong legal background with extensive experience in paralegal work and a deep commitment to Intellectual Property and Entertainment and Media, which I believe aligns well with the values and expectations of your firm. One of my electives in my undergraduate law degree was intellectual where I received a 2:1 in this subject and in Year 2 of my LPC, I chose Entertainment and Media as one of my electives, where I also successfully passed the exam.
Having already completed the CILEx Graduate Fast-track Diploma with electives in Criminal Litigation and Company and Partnership Practice, my academic background is complemented by practical experience gained through various roles, where I have been responsible for providing comprehensive legal support, conducting detailed legal research, and managing complex casework.
My dedication and hard work have made me a capable individual who is reliable and dependable at all times, an enthusiastic worker who is always keen to learn new things and enjoy working as part of a team or on my own as necessary. I have good organisation skills and am able to keep detailed notes of my work and what I need to do, I never leave work undone and always ensure I do my best.
I have excellent I.T.
skills and vast experience on using various in house systems and am able to pick up new systems quickly, as well as being competent in using Microsoft Windows XP/7/8/, Microsoft Office Suite 2003/2007/2010 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).I am a fast learner whose successes can be attributed to exceptional attention to detail, excellent knowledge of legal principles and dedication to completing each task, while I have a passion for using my skills to make a difference and enjoy being involved in social reform and public defence “as I feel a great sense of satisfaction when I am a part of justice being done.”
In my previous roles I have been required to deal with complaints directly from clients, regulatory boards, attending court or Tribunals. This has given me a working knowledge of dealing with complex issues, assimilating, analysing information and assessing large volume of information. I have also been responsible for supporting a team of solicitors/fee earners while maintaining my own workload.
This involved careful legal research, drafting legal letters and providing effective support on a number of complex cases, general clerical work, running errands and collecting paperwork, keeping accurate records, dealing with queries and organising dates, appointments so I possess strong communication, both verbally and in writing.
Having worked within a variety of roles has given me a wide range of experience in areas such as legal, local government, customer service, pharmaceuticals and retail. My experience has also enabled me to gain strong peoples skills and has helped me to build good professional and personal relationships while I have gained in depth knowledge of legal doctrine, policies and procedure and am able to explain complex issues clearly to non-legal professionals. These are very important transferable skills which I intend to use in my future roles and feel would be a big asset to any company.
This role has interested me greatly and I am keen to discuss my experience and abilities further with you. I am available to attend an interview at your convenience if you wish to take my application further, thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
