Head of BI Practice - Blueprint Management Systems (now NTT data)
(2004-03 - 2011-03)
I spent seven years helping to grow this boutique consultancy into a successful £8m turnover business intelligence, performance management and information strategy consultancy and top SAP BusinessObjects VAR many years running. I was on the company management team and responsible for the main SAP consulting practice (15 heads, 2 direct reports) and the central London training centre. I was responsible for developing the offering and working with the sales team to take it to market.
Together with the head of sales we developed the client engagement model and grew consulting revenue by roughly 20% a year. A lot of client time was spent pre-sale, closing business and evangelising about business intelligence with a business focused approach. Chargeable time was spent on business performance strategy, BI strategy and technical review and oversight.
I developed a number of specific niches across different sectors. I also owned the programme management of the whole client project portfolio, acted as a technical authority over data warehouse design and provided thought leadership across the company.
