I have recently worked with volunteers and stewards as well as security staff at the commonwealth games as a group leader and found this a very enjoyable experience. I helped to deliver customer servce and ensure crowd safety at Sandwell Aquatics Centre - we also came in to contact with IPPs and athletes back of house all whilst spporting our volunteers in their roles and our accessibiity spectators who entered the venue back of house. We were focussed on giving a more inclusive experience of the games and went over and above with our customer service.
I was trained in first aid, leadership and stewarding iin a 6 day training programme in preparation for my group leader role.
This built on my experience working as a steward for OCS at Birmingham Utilita Arena and Resorts World.
I have stewarded for the past year whilst locuming as an Occupational Therapist in various different roles.
I trained to become a Covid and Flu vaccinator during Covid and also worked in community rapid response as well as mental health.
I am interested in working with different cultures and supporting people in need. I would enjoy being in an educational environment and consider myself to be a creative person with unique ideas. I have an academic background and would like to be able to put this to use in a practical sense. I enjoy working with the community and improving the lives of others. This has led me to volunteer on various different projects in both the UK and abroad.
I am interested in promoting equality and diversity through my work and would like my work environment to reflect these qualities.
I have enjoyed volunteering wih Fareshare in the past doing collections in supermarkets and I love the concept of reducing food waste and tackling poverty simultaneously. Furthermore I really enjoy supporting volunteers in their roles.
