With more than 20 years national and international editorial experience at senior level including 10 years as Business Editor at The National in Abu Dhabi, my career so far has encompassed the full range of responsibilities your advertisement outlines. I am comfortable taking an editorial lead regarding story angles and approaches, spotting the most important aspects of such. I am well versed in quickly and effectively ensuring copy is accurate both factually and grammatically and making improvements where necessary.

I am at home working across numerous pages and stories concurrently, thus ensuring subject and audience relevance and readability is second nature. And I am a particularly good headline writer.

I have excellent news judgement and solid experience of leading editorial teams, liaising effectively with writing and subbing staff and other departments where relevant over required page and copy changes. A strong communicator, I’m skilled at planning ahead to maximise editorial excellence and opportunity and, of course, I have never missed a deadline in my career. My experience enables me to be highly flexible when working across shifts and in different roles to best help the production team.

A solid career in media - digital, print and broadcast - I have in-depth understanding of all aspects of journalism and editorial production processes. I have worked at senior level nationally and internationally across a broad range of publications and I am looking to bring those abilities to an organisation such as yours where I can further develop my skills and knowledge and put what I already know to its best use.
