Christopher Dry

Adaptable, motivated and personable with strong interpersonal skills, looking for a role offering the chance to make a contribution as a team player. As someone who has moved countries, Hungary, Ireland and Poland, due to my parent’s work commitments, before returning home, these experiences have led to my being adaptable, open-minded, loving different cultures. My experiences at University during Covid pushed me into another new environment, my time spent studying allowed me to further my understanding economics, politics and people.

• This job required fortitude, this role bolstered my ability to remain consistently productive throughout the day. 

Promoter, HOSt & welfare officer at Astoria, portsmouth (part-time)

Dec 2022- Sep 2023 

• Promotion of events in person, inviting both young and old adults into the venue. 
• Initiated successful social media campaigns to draw in potential customers and boost public awareness of upcoming events. 
• In recognition of my maturity, added responsibility as Welfare Officer after 1 month, ensuring the safety and welfare of customers within and when exiting the venue.

 

Party Host/General staff, Wokingham Superbowl (Part-Time)

• Party Host, managing entertainment for both kids and adult parties of 10 to 40 persons.
• Collaboration with kitchen, reception and Lazerquest staff keeping the party’s events on time. 
• Receptionist welcoming customers, responsible for payments too payments and providing guidance.
• Lazerquest coordinator, I learnt a complex system of controls and maintained a safe and fun environment,
• I joined the Lazerquest due to colleagues departing and I am glad I was entrusted with this role as I found the challenge enjoyable and helped me build confidence

• Duties included: Setting up displays and exhibition stands with marketing materials, Presenting the benefits of the product and sampling drinks to the target audience. Assisting and selling at events, managing stock on display.

Jul 2017 – Sep 2017

• I mentored neuro-divergent kids, teaching them to negate the detrimental aspects of their learning disorders and utilize their gifts.
• I was able to help these children to achieve better results in school by having them do mental exercises, reading and presentations. These activities boosted confidence, both academically and socially.
• One of my responsibilities was to open up the office in the morning, setting up the computers and other equipment needed during the day.

Hobbies and special Interests

• I have always enjoyed music, wishing to understand it further, I taught myself piano over the last year . 
• I love history and learning it has taken me on a journey of understanding people. This interest in history took me nationwide and continental competitions where I formed intercontinental friendships with a diverse cast of like-minded people. 
• I have played football for 15 years, committing myself to training hard and playing competitively. Football has taught me the worth of hard work.
• Charity Events: For example Fund raising for Children’s Hospital, Warsaw with running of Chocolate Tombola Stands or participating in Sponsored Swims.
