I applied for the Royal Navy as a Mine Warfare (MW) specialist in 2010 but due to Defence cuts and refurbishment at the Training Centre I was unable to join until 2013.
I progressed through the Ranks from Able Rate to Leading Hand MW in 2016 where I served on Sandown Class Mine Hunters for 8 years completing deployments in the Middle East and Mediterranean. Leading a driven team of 4 it was my responsibility to run part of safety. I was Also Leading Hand of the Mess where I would ensure all 23 Junior Rate’s on board remained to a high standard of dress and adhered to core values.
In 2019 I was selected to Petty Officer MW. During this I was the Operations Room Supervisor, here I oversaw all Records for the job ranging from Official to Secret.
I’m 2021 I became the Coxswain for the first ever Autonomous Mission System. I lead a team of 16 creating a data base tracking development and progression of all members. My role included being the Discipline Officer Medical Advisor and HR administrator. Alongside this I volunteered to complete the Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Advisor Course to ensure all the team understood what D&I is educate and teach.
