My career in the Structural Engineering business spans 18 years. Within this time I have had the privilege of working within a number of positions, which has gained me valuable knowledge of all aspects of work. As an engineer I have extensive experience in many areas of construction, drawings and general documentation and some basic design knowledge.
I am proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel programs. I am a keen, conscientious, hard working and reliable person. I am willing to travel as part of a role and I am flexible in terms of working hours to meet the needs of the business.
I am an excellent timekeeper and enjoy meeting people and communicate well with others. I work well in a team and on my own. I can adapt to meet different tasks and deadlines and would like to use my skills to contribute positively to work within the engineering environment and would welcome the opportunity to build on these skills with in house training and external courses.

To gain experience on how the Engineering Dept worked, I worked closely with a project engineer as a project administrator for approximately two years and within this time part of my role was liaising with colleagues, clients, sub-contractors, fabricators and other departments with the William Hare company. After completing the Strucad training course I was then able to gain an extensive knowledge in all aspects of the system, including model building for material orders, connection detailing using the Stucad's macro system and expressions, and also the production of all drawings such as shaft drawings, fabricated beams and assemblies. Creation of general arrangement drawings, cam data files and lists for production.
My AutoCAD training enabled me to be involved in many other aspects of work within the drawing office which included producing drawings for design and build projects, adapting drawing formats for use in different modelling systems and checking new data to be imported. Whilst in this position I also took on the role of training a number of the under graduate apprentices assisting them in Strucad operations.
