I have previously worked in childcare as an Early Years Practitioner for 16 years and currently in retail as a sales assistant, this has helped me to become a confident and social person, with great communication skills. I can play an important part in a team, but also thrive working individually from my own initiative, this is enhanced through my positive, open-minded and caring attitude. I am naturally highly motivated and determined, meaning I have achieved many qualifications throughout my working life and fulfilled roles such as, room leader and holiday club coordinator.
I often find myself to be a bit of a perfectionist, particularly with the cleaning of my home, this has resulted in me having great organisational skills and always being well presented. After so many years in childcare and retail I am ready for a change and new opportunities within my career, I feel all the skills I have will make a great starting point for any job role. I am very family orientated and enjoy spending time with them.
I also enjoy socialising with friends. This could include going to the cinema or eating out. As well as spending time with my daughter I like going to the gym and swimming. I feel I am positive, confident with determination and a good outlook on life that I share with others, especially with my daughter.
I feel like I have been a strong positive role model to her, it is really important to me that I am giving her the best opportunities in life and that I teach her to push herself and succeed confidently in whatever she wants to do.

I carried on enjoying my role as an early year's practitioner and worked in all the rooms (birth to 5 years), but I was mainly based in the baby room and then later, joined the pre-school rooms. During my time at Polly's my role was to plan and provide age-appropriate activities, experiences and environments, both inside and outside. They had to be fun, stimulating, educational, safe and challenging.
As well as providing seasonal activities and experiences, celebrating significant dates/traditions, I needed to follow the children's interests. I did monthly observations; recording the child's development, achievements and activities to support their next steps and how parents can support their child at home. I supported the nursery to ensure everybody was safeguarded and policies and procedures were followed at all times, including filling in any relevant forms and remembering about confidentiality.
I did some in house training and online courses to enhance my knowledge and understanding. On a daily basis I would talk to parents/carers about how their child had been and what they had done during the day. I would help the rest of the team to make sure all information about the childr
