A dedicated and detail-oriented professional with a background in youth work and support services, now seeking to transition into a Laboratory Assistant role. Offers strong organisational, IT, and record-keeping skills, experience working within safeguarding and procedural frameworks, and the ability to maintain accurate documentation in busy, regulated environments. Enthusiastic about contributing to laboratory operations, with a strong commitment to learning and supporting scientific and healthcare teams.
I have over five years of experience in roles that required strong organisation, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and safeguarding procedures—skills that are directly transferable to a laboratory setting. As Leader in Charge at Magnet YAC, I was responsible for maintaining accurate records, managing safeguarding protocols, coordinating structured programmes, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. In my role as a Support Worker with MACS, I supported young people facing a range of challenges, implemented risk assessments, and collaborated with professionals across sectors.
These roles have equipped me with the ability to work methodically, follow procedures closely, and contribute effectively to a team—qualities I’m confident will support me in a Laboratory Assistant position.
I am currently completing a BA (Hons) in Criminology and Criminal Justice, and I hold a Level 4 Certificate in Community Youth Studies from Ulster University. My academic background has strengthened my ability to analyse information, maintain accurate records, and follow structured procedures—skills that are essential in laboratory work. I also have a GCSE in Science (Grade C) and have completed Essential Skills qualifications in English, Maths, and ICT, providing me with a solid foundation in communication, numeracy, and technology use.
