I have always considered myself to be a kind and compassionate person who cares highly about the impact I can have on understanding and helping those around me. I enjoy learning and educating myself to better enhance my understanding of anything I set my mind to, and I feel this is a crucial aspect regardless of the environment you are involved in. I am reliable, honest, and focused not only in my personal life but also in a work environment and I strive to give as much as I can to meet the expectations that are required of me.
I can work effectively and efficiently within a team or on my own and I am also a quick learner with excellent time keeping. I am a mum to 3 amazing boys, my 2
eldest sons have autism and I have primarily been a stay-at-home mum for the past 11 years. During my time as a stay-at-home mom, I also cared for my mum who was diagnosed with depression,
anxiety, and arthritis in 2015. In addition to my home life commitments, I also completed multiple courses at college including level 2 and 3 support work in schools followed by my bachelor's degree in health social care during the pandemic, I volunteered as a teaching assistant and family support worker whilst also helping my mother in law clean air b and b properties. My time as a mum/career has provided me with many valuable skills such as behaviour management, dealing with life,
appropriate relationships, boundary setting, emotional expression and control, appropriate discipline, role modeling, safety awareness, stress management, communication, listening, patience,
education delivery, and consistency. In addition to this, being a SEN parent has also given me great insight into meeting the expectations of people with complex needs including attending annual reviews and filling out relevant paperwork such as EHCP’s and benefit claims. My experience as a student, volunteer, and cleaner also taught me many skills such as working to strict deadlines,
working in line with policies and procedures, the importance of organisation, critical thinking,
problem-solving, communication with peers, tutors, and extended community, research requirements and expectations, working with technology, safeguarding, attention to detail and the importance of appropriate hygiene. Even though I haven’t necessarily got a lot of professional working experience, I do consider myself to have abundant forms of life experience that I feel is not something that can be necessarily taught and I am now in a position to commit to a career to set a good example to my boys that with hard work anything is possible regardless of what life throws at you.
