I qualified as a registered adult nurse in 2004. A job I take great pride and satisfaction in. I have cared for orthopaedic oncology patients, with diagnoses of primary or secondary bone or soft tissue tumours, their post operative care and the essential generalised nursing, care & emotional support involved.
In 2015 I moved into primary care, as a community nurse, then promoted to deputy district nurse, managing a caseload, and completing the required training of specialist practitioner as a district nurse. Conditions I have cared for vary from diabetes, wound management, terminal/palliative care, COPD, MS, paralysis, mental health & learning disability patients. All long term conditions are cared for in the community.
I have extensive clinical skills, and also leadership and management skills for a caseload of patients and for staff working for my caseload, including appraisals and staff support. Since 2022 I have specialised in autoimmune/biologics/homecare in the private sector. With 20 years plus experience I have broad knowledge and able to apply myself to many settings.
