I've led design systems, run research operations, built teams, and influenced strategy at the most senior levels — and over the last few years, that work has increasingly intersected with AI: designing conversation flows, building agents, and thinking about how humans and intelligent systems interact. I'm equally comfortable setting the vision and writing the code.

Head of Colleague Experience & Experience Design at Barclays (2019-01 – Present)

Leading UX design and research for HR systems serving 98,000+ colleagues across UK, US and India — responsible for Design Ops, research operations, design pods and the end-to-end colleague experience strategy.

• Designed and built the KB Article Builder Agent — a conversational AI agent with a structured instruction architecture (system guardrails, transformation logic, validation layers, follow-up question logic) that transforms source documents into production-ready knowledge articles. Presented to the Barclays UX community.
• Built accessible, JavaScript-free HTML/CSS component systems for the ServiceNow/Amaze plugin environment including design system tokens, modal tours, and step-by-step guides.
• Led a 174-response Maze research study (colleague and people leader paths across UK, India, US), transforming data into executive-ready insights that shaped annual leave UX strategy.
• Developed the HR Channel Strategy Operating Model with senior MDs, defining channel principles, architectural decisions, and a bidirectional strategy-journey design framework.
• Ran Time in Office dashboard research with 9 stakeholder interviews; produced key findings deck influencing data governance and metric design decisions.
• Led conversation design and UAT for the Colleague Assist Copilot agent — a multi-domain HR, IT and Compliance conversational agent. Identified critical failure modes in intent routing, proposed a Router Agent architecture, and defined tiered exit criteria for launch readiness.
• Produced video storyboards and animation for HR Townhall communications including AI journey and survey automation narratives.
• Drove Personas E2E Oversight initiative with executive workshops and redesign recommendations; developed and ran UX research measurement frameworks.

Principal / Lead UX Consultant at Valtech (2014-07 – 2019-01)

Client-facing design lead on complex enterprise projects across the UK; also drove business development and built the UX practice through Communities of Practice.

• Conceived, named and led UX for EasyJet Inspire Me — a preference-led conversational discovery experience built before AI recommendation engines existed. Still live in 2026; spawned a direct successor product in 2024. Winner of the UXUK Award 2018, Best Leisure & Entertainment Experience.
• Delivered UX strategy and design for Ofgem, Herbert Smith Freehills, Sage, DVLA, DWP, NHS, Bupa, Jaguar Land Rover, Rolls-Royce, Schroders, Toyota Financial Services and others.
• Mentored a creative team of 12; oversaw scoping, resourcing and delivery estimation across multi-workstream programmes.
