- Completed several complex consultations independently, including taking a detailed history, performing a clinical exam, and creating a treatment plan. Presenting complaints included lameness, vomiting and diarrhoea, neurological signs, and dermatological issues.
- Refined surgical skills by completing several cat castrations, two cat spays, a dog castration, and a lump removal under supervision.
- Sought out opportunities to assist the vet with diagnostic procedures such as radiography and ultrasound scanning.
- Took cytological samples of the ear and examined these under the microscope, creating an appropriate treatment plan based on the cytological picture.

- Performed cat and dog castrate surgeries under close supervision, including induction of anaesthesia, endotracheal tube placement, and preparation of the surgical site.
- Practiced various clinical skills such as placing IV catheters, blood sampling, and manual restraint for procedures.
- Scrubbed in and assisted with a laparoscopic hernia repair surgery.

- Assisted with the monitoring of patients under general anaesthesia, as well as recovery of these patients.
- Scrubbed into and assisted with complex surgeries such as fracture repairs and TTA's, allowing me to develop tissue handling skills.

- Assisted with the triage and stabilisation of critical patients during twilight shifts. Learned that I think well on my feet and thrive in fast-paced environments.
- Performed vaccination consultations independently, allowing me to gain confidence in the structure of consultations and solidify communication skills.
- Management of acutely unwell inpatients, including those suffering from seizures, intoxication and endocrine disease.

- Built rapport with clients, especially those who I saw more than once throughout the placement.

Volunteer at Hillingdon Outdoors Activity Centre (2017-04 – 2019-09)
Voluntary work involving the care and supervision of disabled children and adults for water-based activities. This included one-on-one tuition in activities such as canoeing and sailing, which greatly helped to shape resilience as well as sharpen communication skills from a young age.

- Supervision of members of the public when swimming, and enforcement of all health and safety procedures to prevent accidents or injuries. This involved a high level of vigilance, as well as effective interpersonal skills to mediate arguments between customers and complaints.
