I am a 20 year old university student looking to get into a job that I can do remote alongside university and being a nail technician. I am studying AI and Robotics, and would like to enter a job that will develop my programming skills so that I can be ahead of my class. I have been interested in computer science my whole life, and have found that I pick up information with ease when it has something to do with computers.
I have studied python in school, and visual basic at college. I am now looking into something more useful like Java and Linux. I hope to find a job that can provide training.
There are many things I am interested in like pottery, carpentry, archery, textiles, gaming and doing nails. I have worked as a teaching assistant with SEN children and have started selling stick on nails on Etsy. I feel that my variety of interests and experiences will come in handy in any future job.
I have never worked in the tech before but hope to do so this year. I most recently worked in a school with SEN children which was very eye opening as I got to see so many different ways in which the brain works. I worked in this field for around 5 months. I chose to enter this field when I was on my gap year, as I had always wanted to work with children. I now hope to use what I have learnt to help me develop something related to special needs, in my third year project.
I have worked in 2 salons where I have done nails. I got my nail technician qualification when I was 16, and have been using it as a job to fall back on ever since. I get to meet so many people from all walks of life when I am doing their nails. I worked at The Loft Salon, which is a successful salon in Nottingham.
I have also worked in a care home, a hair salon and a warehouse. I am now starting to build a clientele in Aberystwyth after moving here for university, and have started selling press on nails on Etsy.
I have done Computer Science at GCSE and A level and have enjoyed it a lot. I prefer the practical side of it, which we did not get to do a lot of. I enjoyed having to make my own system for A level course work, where I had to make a program that my mum could use to calculate stock, profit and average reviews across multiple platforms that she sells products on. I attended Bilborough college in Nottingham where I studies psychology, business and computer science.
I am now starting university and studying AI and Robotics which I wanted to study so that I would get a mix of programming and hands-on work. As I described in my hobbies, a lot of my interests are hands-on and involve creativity.
