In this role it was my responsibility to clean down the lorries and pay extra attention to key touch points. I was able to use my own initiative to work to tight deadlines and ensure lorries were clean and sanitised to a high standard. Having a set target helped me to develop my time management skills. I gained experience in using hazardous cleaning products effectively and safely to ensure the protection of myself and others.

When I worked here my role was to pick and pack in a factory setting. As part of this role I had to fill out paperwork for the orders I'd selected and needed to pay close attention to details. I was responsible for moving items to the processing and shipping area.
I was taught to use an RF scanner in order to ensure all orders were accurately tracked. I was then responsible for packing the orders and preparing them for shipping, and sometimes shrink wrapped packaging. I had to inspect the items to ensure that they're not damaged or missing any parts, package them according to specifications and transport them carefully as needed to bring them to shipping facilities.
Throughout this job I developed problem-solving skills, I learnt to notice defects and errors quickly. When problems appeared, I was able to act quickly and decisively. I also developed strong communication skills as I had to work as a team member with a wide variety of people in the supply chain.

Whilst I worked at Wickes, I had to coordinate with stock clerks to replenish items on the floor when they get low. This duty involved lifting and carrying items short distances. In addition to filling the floor, I had to keep the floor organised according to my managers visual standards.
During this job role my communication skills were developed massively as I had to interact with customers throughout my shift whether I was on the tills or not. I was able to identify customers' needs and use my product knowledge to advice and solve customers' problems. I was taught how to operate a till and how to handle money too, using basic math and computer skills, plus shrink wrapping pallets and packaging.
Overall, this job expanded my professional social skills in order to ensure customers were always satisfied.
