Daryl Smart

As a Business and Healthcare Management student at Anglia Ruskin University, I am passionate about applying a Warehouse Operative to inspire others and improve their skills and abilities. I graduated in January 2024 with a first-class honours degree, and I have been nominated as a student ambassador, developing skills such as dispute resolution, time management, and interpersonal communication.

I have also gained valuable customer service skills and experience from working as a Customer Service Assistant at WHSmith for over a year. I provided friendly and professional assistance to customers, handled enquiries and complaints, processed transactions, and maintained the store's appearance and inventory. I worked with a diverse and supportive team of colleagues and managers, and I contributed to the store's performance and customer satisfaction. I also developed my leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, which I plan to further enhance through my university graduate scheme, starting in January 2024. I am motivated by the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others, and I believe I can bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team.

Throughout my time at university, I was able to obtain understanding of HR policies, L&D programs, and recruitment. This can be vital within the company since it requires good decision making, which I have developed over the course of the years during my time at uni and having some experience as an HR assistant.

Furthermore, I have great analytical skills and problem solving skills which is vital when making decisions. This has been demonstrated when I was given a task to decide on ways to increase productivity within a cost effective manner. In doing so with the good analytical skills, I was able to save the company money without decreasing productivity, which was one of my proudest achievement til this day. Overall, my excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills allow me see patterns that others may not see which can make a different to profit or loss within your company.

I have obtained a first-class honours throughout my degree. I have gained a wider range of knowledge, including effective budgeting, good communication through presentations and more.
