Dear Hiring Manager,
It is a continual dream of mine to put my passion for coaching and training to good and help all young people and adults improve their skills, enjoyment and knowledge within sports and exercise. I have immersed myself into coaching for a significant part of my life including a long-established career within the military. During which, I coached and played at a variety of rugby clubs and more recently I am the lead coach for Exmouth Girls Rugby teams and coach coordinator for the club to the England Rugby Football Union.
I also assisted heavily in the startup process of a now well-established women’s team.
From my varied experience over the past 28 years from a physical, practical and compassionate standpoints, I believe my expertise and experience serve coaching and, teaching and instructing children and young people well. I am thrilled at the prospect of combining my experience and talent with your reputation, guidance and resources, and I believe this will be a great next step in helping children and young people from all backgrounds and challenging behaviours, an excellent start in live through constructive sports and exercise.
Most of my experience gained within the military included coaching and instructing junior female and male soldiers between the ages of 16 to 18. I also worked in a military prep school in Qatar with secondary school age children between the ages of 11 to 18 years old as a rugby and multi sports coach and as a military mentor, instructor and tutor. I also have experience as a coach for all ages and genders in both civilian and military athletics clubs.
I was a player and coach within the British Army Rugby Football union, throughout large parts of my career.
I have completed the England Rugby coaching award (Level 2) and the England Rugby Refereeing award (Level 2) and I am experienced in refereeing all ages including adults, and now an active member within the Devon Referee Society.
I have a history of success which I am very proud of, in particular my current coaching of the under 14s and under 16s girls rugby team. Several of the girls and boys that I have had the pleasure of coaching had never played rugby before and have gone on to become very confident and skilled players, that have even represented Devon.
I believe this role suits my skill set and experience very well, and I believe my motivational skills, coupled with my understanding of coaching children from varied backgrounds and with possible challenging behaviours or learning difficulties prepare me well for this position, and I am excited to meet and interact with both staff and children within your setting.
Yours sincerely,
