I’m a conscientious and professional person with extensive experience in Education, Language Teaching and Security. Above all I am a loyal and conscientious worker, punctual and compliant. My ex-employer at ‘The University of York’ would have described me as a key team player, and one they could rely on.
After being furloughed, I was offered a settlement sum, and left their employment. With my language skills, I drifted into hospitality and worked as a mental health support worker for Mencap. I have experience in Security, both in the UK and the US, also in education (PGCE in Adult Education) and some skills in languages, writing and Art.
I am currently seeking to work, where I can make the best use of my various skills.
I could also lend myself to some area of mental health support work, where my age isn’t an issue. I’m currently seeking a full-time position as a security guard that offers appropriate financial renumeration, with an emphasis on night work, as I’m a bit of a night owl.
I began my working life as a fitter and turner after which I joined the Royal Air Force serving in Germany and in Sardinia. Following that, I spent the next 10 years as a Prison Officer, and then I lived in the USA teaching and working as a security operative. On my return, I spent another 10 years working for the University of York as a receptionist. I retired from that in 2020. Working in hospitality which I enjoyed and care work which I did not.
