Former Secondary English teacher seeking editing/proofreading work.
I believe that my listening skills, communicative style, and solid work ethic would undoubtedly assist in delivering an excellent high quality administrative service for the Technical Editor role currently advertised. My calm and personable demeanour would be an asset, as would my experience of corporate software; furthermore, courtesy, sensitivity, and a conscientious sense of responsibility drive my workplace interactions with both colleagues and customers.
My many years of Secondary classroom experience have given me many transferable skills, both in terms of communication styles (always tailored to whomever I’m conversing with) and a keen sense of prioritisation: I consistently achieve all workplace deadline and have a keen eye for prioritising a variety of work-related tasks.
Please note that I also possess my own transport for easy and quick commuting from Milngavie. In addition, have an exemplary and faultless workplace attendance record. Furthermore, I also pride myself on my personal and professional appearance and demeanour, and approach all workplace interactions with a sense of dignity and purpose.
I have eighteen years' experience of English teaching, consistently delivering excellent examination results at Higher and National 5 levels; this position, of course, also necessitated proofreading students' coursework for submission to SQA.
I have also undertaken paid proofreading work on an author's work for publication (D. Limond Miller).
Masters (Hons) in English Language 2:1 from the University of Glasgow.
