I currently work as an operations manager at the Wickes store in Aberdeen where I lead a team of sales assistants and Design and Installation consultants. The store runs with a turnover of approximately £10million per annum. In this role I fully manage a 6,000 sqft warehouse with a further 15,000 sqft of outdoor yard space.
I am solely in charge of ensuring that all inbound and outbound stock is processed correctly and efficiently. I am appointed as Health and Safety manager and am responsible for ensuring consistent performance in H&S Audits. I oversee a team of eight forklift operators.
I am responsible for risk assessing all inside and outside operations of the site. In addition to my daily operational duties I also manage a team of 28 shop assistants and a small team of four Kitchen and bathroom design consultants. In addition to this I am an experienced retail and sales manager with a degree in business management.
I have enjoyed all my previous jobs but particularly excel at selling, coaching, and developing my people. I have experience project managing store openings, refits and closures. During my time with Cotswold I joined the business as assistant manager and moved into the role of store manager after three months and was then put in charge of overseeing a £1 million refit where we launched two brand new stores inside the original store, bringing both Runners need and Snow & Rock brands to Scotland for the very first time.
