David Green

I am a technologist who translates between the world of technology and real world value. I have a deep technical background, including a PhD, but also a nuanced commercial understanding. I can build and deliver projects, but also build and run teams, implement strategies and communicate with stakeholders.

I am currently the ‘Director of AI’ at a startup in the defence and national security space. I manage R&D and operations developments. I am very focussed on the commercialisation of technology.

I started my career in Civil Engineering, but started to work in AI and Machine Learning after starting a second degree in Computer Science. I was fortunate enough to work with some very high profile people in the AI space. After a time working in commercial engineering consulting, I moved to academia.

I completed a PhD on real world applications of AI and ML. I was a lecturer and a research fellow at a number of places, including the Alan Turing Institute (the UK National Centre for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence).

After leaving academia, I have been the Head of Data Science at a healthtech startup and then became the head of the data science at a large multinational corporation. I have worked on AI strategy and implementation extensively over the past several years.

Through all of this I have been a strong software developer who understands tech at a deep level.

I have a PhD in Computer Science/Civil Engineering focussed on real world applications of AI techniques.
