I worked in the John Lewis Department Store selling large and small electrical items, maintaining stock and liaising with management. I left the company when my wife found employment in London.

When we moved from Scotland to Reading I gained employment with Debenhams. I supervised staff and sold household items to customers. I was also involved with training staff in appropriate procedures for offering store cards to customers. I was the top member of staff for opening the Store Card.

Responsibilities included minor repairs, property maintenance and liaising with management about health and safety issues.

Estates Worker at Devon and Cornwall Housing Association (2000-01 – 2004-12)

Worked on an estate for single people. Duties involved grounds maintenance, liaising with residents and management. Managing cleaning staff and submitting monthly budgets for use of petty cash for sundry items.

Corporal at British Army In the army I was a corporal and had to organise men, supervise the carrying out of duties and assume responsibility for day time and night time supervision of the barracks.
